Now it gets interesting.
Chara thinks, that Asriel is dead because he isn't moving. She knows that monsters turn into dust if they die but remember, that nobody knows what happens if a monster absorbs a human SOUL. So she thinks that it is maybe normal for such kind of "fusion" to NOT turn into dust ( In fact, they do nevertheless. But Chara doesn't know this).

The most people in the fandom say, Asriel died and his ashes scattered around the flowers, thats how Flowey came alive.
For LogTale this premise is different. Professor Alphys found Asriel who is now in a comatose state caused by the wounds. You know Alphys, she is always nervous and muddle-headed and SIMPLY DIDN'T RECOGNIZED HIM xD (Also the reason why she didn't tell Asgore and Toriel. They simply thought he was dead, along with Chara).
You know about her DETERMINATION research and the Amalgamates...She thought he just was another fallen down, comatose monster, which she could use for her research. She also didn't noticed the body of Chara, because in the moment Asriel stumbled and fell down, her body slided away from him and landed in a position where Alphys couldn't see her (and after finding Asriel there wasn't much place in her head for something else than her research).
So Alphys treated Asriel like the other comatose monsters and Chara thought accidently that she tried to rescue his SOUL.
Then Asriel really died, but cause of the connection between Asriel and Sam, their SOUL remained longer than an usual monster's SOUL. Alphys thought it was finally the success of her experiments and transferred the SOUL into the flower, which grew on the place Asriel fell down.
But before Alphys could tell Asgore the good news, the other monster unexpectedly waked up and seemed totally fine until their bodys didn't get along with the huge concentration of DETERMINATION and melted into each other. Alphys was totally shocked; she couldn't understand what was happening and felt terribly guilty. The vessel of Asriels SOUL also didn't react in some kind or another, so Alphys explained the whole experiment as failed. She was so ashamed, that she didn't mention her "success" in the messages and banished it from her mind, like it never happened.
Only in one message she was thinking about what will happen if something, nor human nor monster, will gain the will to live....
