this was their punishment. to live attached to each other, looking identical, old id's and lives ended.if they couldn't make this work, it got a lot worse.
they had three years until next judgment.

What ways would it get worse?
What were they punished for anyway, and by whom?
So what happens if they can make it work? Do they go back to their old selves? Or to normal with new identities and lives? Or get a different, more manageable change as a follow up punishment/test before something like one of those things can happen?

So I know the sorta stuff he does. I asked these things though cause I was curious if there was like, a more specific idea (rather than something generalized or open to interpretation, as your reply entails) he'd had in mind both for what led up to and what followed it since it's the first I've seen (or first I've seen in a long enough while that I forgot the last time) to be given such potential back story and such o.o
