My entry for the TDL summer Battle Roulette! I was given the extra challenge of having two opponents - a challenge in an artistic sense, since I had to fit in three Tamers and three Digimon into one single illustration, with no extra panels! The solution to me was to make it a vertical composition, rather than a horizontal one.
Ropymon attacks with x2 Tumblewhips! He hits Tanukimon in the face, but when Noctuamon tries to break the whip with her psychic powers, the dirt gets in her eyes! Ouch!!!! I hate when that happens.
If you're wondering why the big attack name in the background, this is a Digimon thing I've done way back since TDC. It's basically a visual "Calling Your Attack."

Aaaaaah wow this is so neat..! 8D Ropymon's got his hands full fighting two digimon, but he seems to be doing fine!
I really like how the attack calling looks visually, it makes me think of of sprite-based fighting games which is amazing and IMO fits digimon very well!

Holy frig biscuits! I love how this came out, it's so dynamic and it just has a ton of energy aaah!
The "attack calling" in the background really helps give the piece depth, and I have to say the vertical distribution of the composition works really well, especially with the perspective you chose. The style is very simple, yet highly effective, I actually really dig seeing my characters in styles that are different from mine and seeing them simplified is no doubt really awesome - though Damian looks a bit odd idk why kind of more bulky than he's supposed to be? considering he's a toothpick XD I would have made him feel taller, but it's not a big deal it's still appealing to see his design simplified, the same with Noctua - though I'm not sure if this was intentional with the simplification or a mistake/oversight on your behalf but she's supposed to have 4 fingers on her hands - two apposable and two normal fingers - it's somewhat of a theme with all her later evolutions and xrosses 
I also really dig how the colors on top are warmer and feel more 'earthy' and the slowly gradient to a cool green at the bottom, it works both with the attack going on up there, composition stability as well as a suggestion of light! Of course I already mentioned this, but I feel the need to point it out again, I really enjoy the energy all the characters are showing, I think you captured the moment really well!
Okay that's enough gushing on my end XD; awesome job and looking forward to more!

Yeah I could only see two fingers in the ref, so that's what I drew. Also sorry that I keep getting Damian's name wrong!! I had yet another erroneous spelling in the name of his practice drawing.
