There's all sorts of stuff going on in this image that makes it so powerful. Compositionally, your choice of 1) pose (the ambiguity of hand position that almost looks like prayer but could be only the bondage, her slumped shoulders), 2) her placement next to the filmy window and the open chest behind her, and 3) the very unusual use of lighting and shadow here (especially fine work on her elbow shadow, and the shadowing of her crotch), with just enough light coming through the window to get her right side, while some off-image light source is generating the shadows coming from inside the attic β all these elements make us feel off-balance, anticipatory, even a bit complicit in her captivity.
Her facial expression (sad, frightened, worried, all at once), adds to the ambiguity of the scene, while her mound-prominent bikini panties and barely glimpsed underwired breasts leave no doubt that there's going to be some unwanted attention paid to her, very soon.

Gorgeous work. Β Love the lighting, especially around her hands and hair. Β Almost angelic, which is also easy to imagine as she is so sweet and beautiful and in white. Β Quite a juxtaposition to her predicament. Β The piece has such soft edges and a nice haze or blur that really makes it seem "heavenly". Β And she can gaze out the window and enjoy natural light and view the world that's visible. Β So there is hope for her?
