We attempt to findPeace of mind
In the cruel battle
While the opponent endeavors
A goal to succeed
With weapons, destruction
Temptation, longing
The opponent is mine
As well as this battle
In the raging war
To find oneself
And who to trust
But to find peace
Just for a small moment
With one to love, one who cares
One who was always there
Though we were too blind to see it
To find peace
Would be remarkable,
Even for only a minute
A minute of silence, a minute of love
A moment without hate or worry
But to find peace is difficult
With the opponent forever raving
We mustn’t go back to the opponent
Who was once a friend
Or so we thought
We were so blinded by “love”
And the yearning for companionship
That we could not see the truth
The demon that lies beneath the soft skin
Peace and harmony
In the mind
It will not last, not for long
Sensations soon fade away
And we must return to the battle
We must face the opponent, along with our fears
And end this, so we may return
To peace of mind
