Description
I borrowed Venus from The Next Mutation- and decided to change her up a little. That decision ended in a complete overhaul of her character, but I didn't have the heart to change her name so it stays:]She's a soldier in a division of the intergalactic army, hence the space camo:]
Tattoos are a large part of the greater military- her anatomy is different in that there is no connective tissue that bonds the plastron to their shells, they are both fused into the skin. Additionally, the sides of the torso are the most sensitive, so to have markings there is a sign of great strength and self-control. The larger the tattoo and the more of them, the higher your perceived standing.
Mei’s people have come to an understanding we as a society have yet to reach. They view gender from a biological standpoint and define certain body parts as male and others as female. Other than that, there are no stereotypes for gender. There are however certain stereotypes for class level, though not to the extent that is seen today.
The way that the squadrons are picked is hand selected from very young in childhood. Most often they pick from the poorest families who receive certain benefits such as schooling and money as compensation for their children being ripped away from them. They rarely see their families again, as they are kept away to ensure enemies can’t take what they would presumably hold dear. They are trained hard from the beginning, built to have nerves of steel and rock-hard muscles.
While not rendered incapable of caring- she still has compassion and empathy- Mei rarely knows what to do when she feels said emotions, only knowing to use them to fuel her work and make herself more efficient. Which is why she is at one of the top ranking stations- though her supervisors have told her on several occasions to get friendlier with her squad mates so that they can work together more seamlessly. Her squad mates are a lot less uptight, so when she finally does open up later they are welcoming and befriend her quickly.
That's all for now:] Keep an eye out for another character and brief recap on how they meet the turtles coming up in the next couple of weeks!
