After playing forever...I was able to pin her shoulder and then I moved her forearm across her body.Β I really don't know how I did it other than y axis movement and such.Β Seems like a lot to go through to make her forearm go side to side and I'll never remember what I did since it happened on accident. Β Frustrating.

Well, there is the "pose" ball that you can use(allow to move the joint in all ranges..
You can access her arms/shoulder from the pose tab as well.
If you are not sure what I mean there, I will show you.

I have seen the pose ball and I've tried to use it.Β I mess up everything, everytime. Please, please show me.Β Posing in DS is my nemesis.Β If I could manipulate characters the way I want to without having to solely rely on vendor products, then I would really enjoy creating art with DS. Help.

well, I'll try my best!
It's been quite a while since I've used Poser, so I can remember how it is done.
Will find a way.

Β Tim, remember I said I had an issue with posing arms? Well, look at this image you commented on as it is a great example.Β This is a pose preset from a vendor.Β See how her left arm goes across her body? I can't get my figures arm to do that at all in DS! That would require a side to side movement that Poser did easily, but I can't figure out the controls in DS. I'm limited to up, down, and front to back bending.Β The forearm especially.Β I can bring V4 into DS and I can get side to side forearm movement but not G3 or G8 figures.Β Do you know how to help me?

I'm looking into that...Just so that you know, it been like 7 years or so since I really did anything with V4, so can't really remember. I just do remember I had trouble back then getting her arm posed right(kept forgetting her shoulder, lol).

Hm, V4 is not the issue...Just the Genesis characters. But I received your screenshots and I'm so happy! Thank you!

Nice render! Great details on textures and I like how you matched the exterior lights on the girl and the reflection too on the glass.

This is a wonderful creation! From a technical perspective, I'm amazed at the clarity of this image. I can imagine the reflection and noise bouncing around in this must have been a challenge to manage. As for the impression, if feels like a warm, cozy morning...with a bit of longing perhaps. She needs a hug πΒ

subvirgins In reply to Dionysian-Experience [2017-12-18 16:21:36 +0000 UTC]
Β Yes, I think she needs a hug.Β You're spot on! Thanks for the technical feedback since that's what I was aiming for in this image. Actually the reflections and noise weren't hard at all to manage. The biggest noise issue was the floor, but I just made sure that the scene rendered long enough. 6 hours and 9600 Iterations did the trick because I rendered it very large. I always change from Gaussian to Mitchell in my settings for clarity and lower the numbers. Sometimes if they're too low then the image is too sharp and there is more noise to deal with.Β At first the scene was too bright and that's where I worked on Tonemapped settings which I hadn't done before. It's amazing that now I don't have to any postwork in Photoshop because of tonemapping (unless of course I just want to.)
Again, thank you!

Tone mapping and the Gaussian - Mitchell adjustments are new to me. I have to check this out...I have so much to learn! Photoshop saves me...otherwise, my renders would be in serious trouble.π

Beautiful scene, Cheryl, and it works for me on many levels, including the natural light from the window, the reflection, as well as the girls pose, which leads me to believe that she is either remembering something or maybe hoping that the day will go well for her. I am not sure if that was intended, but I am getting a slight vibe of sadness and maybe even loneliness. But the reason for that could be that she is alone in the bedroom.
I like this a lot, and hope your Holidays are going great too!

Hi Laspe!
You are right on all levels. I think that this image is a real window into my own personal feelings since my husband passed away a year ago. In the mornings I reflect on our life together and also dream about my hopes for the future.Β I long for him but I also hope that someday a new life for me will begin anew without the sadness and pain of the last two years.Β To be honest, none of that was in mind when I composed this, but I think that my feelings just happened to rise to the surface.Β Natural light and tonemapping were my experiments with this render and I'm thrilled with the results. I know that my watchers would like me to get back into my kinky renders, but it's been hard with all that has happened to get back into that 'vibe' and also since learning new software I have to feel comfortable enough with how to use it in order to move about freely.
In any case thank you for the favorite, the delightful feedback, and for just being you.

I understand well what you are saying, Cheryl, and remember the sorrow that you shared with us when your husband passed away. I think that a part of us, our thoughts and emotions, reflect in what we create and share here on DA, even if subconsciously. Neither you nor I share images for commercial reasons, and we should always do what we like and want, mostly for ourselves, and then for the others to enjoy if they wish.
Always a pleasure and you are very welcome!

Aw, how lucky you are to have new adoptive "pound puppies"! I want another dog or two but for now I don't want to worry about what to do with them if I travel.Β So, maybe in another year or two.

Thanks, Cheryl!Β I think you make a great point about delaying new dogs in the house (for now.)Β I bought a new motorcycle last year with the intention of doing some long tours.Β But with three pups to take care of, it'll be a while before that happens.Β But they're worth it.Β Β Β
