For those who do not know; especially my fellow Americans, the 2nd Amendment wasn't about hunting. Here is a link to the Federalist No. 29 by Alexander Hamilton: [link]The 2nd Amendment was for you and me to be able to arm our selves in the manner of soldiers to fight foreign and domestic forces of tyranny.
Also, its fascinating how much dissent is suddenly 'un-American' if you don't agree with Nancy Pelosi and Barrack Obama (its really funny to see the You Tube Video of Nancy Pelosi saying she is a fan of 'interruptors' in 2006 here is a link to my blog with some of the video [14AUG09] [link] ). Did you see that news report a couple of weeks back?
They showed a person standing in a group of protestors at some function obama was attending. All you could see of that person was his nicely-pressed clothing and the massive gun at his side... they wouldn't show his face.
I don't recall the exact words but they claimed the guy was white.
He was Black. But the press would not say so, and did their best to hide the fact.

I could hope that there would be massive shake-downs in the senior staff and 'leadership' on the major news networks, once everything they are aiming for goes to Hell in a handbasket (which may be most of this very bad presidency). But they may at least be set back for a few years.

Welcome to deomocracy in action. Theocracy anyone? Can't be any worse than liberal tyranism no? Quite frankly those of us who are watching didn't vote for these yahoos and yet they still got there... HMMMM perhaps the majority got exactly what they deserve. They go socialist on the Hill and I head for Mexico. Mike, care to teach your sister to shoot? Could come in handy... On a more serious note, it wouldn't take a run to the border. Someone got stabbed at a seedy bar just outside our mobile home park. Consealed weapons permits aren't a bad idea however openly wearing your peice sends a clear message to would by trouble makers, especially of the "Gangsta" variety.

Well, when we come visit (hopefully soon), I'll see what I can do to teach you the very basics. However, its up to you to learn more from someone who isn't family. One thing I've learned about combat shooting, never teach your family; hire someone else. I'd push too hard or not hard enough, nothing in the middle there.
Open Carry is okay, though concealed carry leaves the would be trouble makers in a quandary as to whom to hit as they can see no-one armed, yet everyone could be armed (Alaska doesn't require a permit for concealed carry, most of our violence centers around places where firearms are not allowed, like bars... Muggings don't happen much if at all they are rare, rape happens in college dorms [gun-free zones], and assaults normally are domestic disputes in nature).
Run for the border? HELL NO! If you head for a border, head through Canada on your way to Alaska... I suspect that Alaska won't put up with the Liberal Fascism....
