I started watching Doctor Who, too, specifically with the intent of gaining access to material to use once he's voted in, so you'll be sure to see plenty of references from the show. (I'm at Series 1, Episode 8, "Father's Day" with the Ninth Doctor.)

It shouldn't be too long until I get to that point. I've really been wondering how much the Doctor changes when he regenerates. Does the new actor maintain the last actor's body language? Do the writer(s) maintain the Doctor's old personality despite the new appearance? I think that that will be interesting to see.

From what I've seen a lot of his personality changes to the point that he spends a while trying to figure out his new personality and form.

You know, that makes sense. You have an actor trying to fill another's shoes, so that could really allow the new actor to create a role that he is comfortable in. This could also be good for the viewer, keeping interactions between characters new and fresh- dynamic.

I know that you can watch Doctor Who on Netflix starting with the first episode of the 2005 reboot. That seems to be where most people are starting.
