Let me start by saying this is how I draw heads and so it does not mean it is the correct/only way to draw heads. Actually, half the time I don't draw heads like this OTL Also it is only one position when the head has many so make sure to learn all the different sorts of head positions. (This one is my favorite position ><)

I would definitely recommend looking at as many tutorials as you can and mix everything you learn till you find a style you are comfortable with. I did this when I first started to learn how to draw and I still do it.

Step 1: Draw a circle. Everyone can draw circles. (at least I hope they can. If not, see me after class.)

Step 2: Draw a line going vertical. (or up and down across the face.)

Step 3: Draw another line going horizontal. (or side to side) These will help show which way your head is looking. Ours is looking downward at the moment Till I completely change where the eye is looking OTL )

Step 4: Define the cheek. Sometimes I make it stand out a lot and sometimes I don't. You can choose to do whatever with the cheek . C:

Step 5: Add a half heart shape for the ear. I like to draw a 6 for the inside. You can go as simple or complicated you want with the ear.

Step 6: Draw the outline for the eyes. (I usually just make circles. Play around with different shapes for it.)

Step 7: Add lines for eyebrows, a half circle for nose, a line for the mouth and two half circles for eyes.

Step 8: I usually add bangs or whatever the front part of the hair looks like first.

Step 9: Add the back part of the hair and then you got a head! WOOT! Now you can ink and color it.

**I used the normal pen tool with the default settings of Painttoolsai to make this. You should use whatever tools feel comfortable to you.**

I think I made this too long. OTL Should I just add the directions to the picture next time? I am planning to make more tutorials so let me know what you think. I am thinking about making a tutorial for full body girl/boy chibis, inking, coloring, pixels, eyes, expressions.

I do not mind if you practice using this tutorial. I don't mind if you even trace over it and draw the exact same picture I drew as long as it is deleted when you are done practicing. What I do mind is if you trace it, make it exactly the same picture and post it ANYWHERE as your own.
