Description
Finally this is finished! I must say, I am extremely pleased with how it came out. Of course I'm sure there are things I could improve on but for now I think I'm done looking at it.Also, I want to put a plug in for two ladies whom have helped me a great deal:
*moodymand has always been a great inspiration to me since I started watching her in Nov. 2004! Yes, I looked it up, that was so long ago! Could it be be that long ago? Wow. I've always adored her work.
*lantairvlea had helped me a great deal in digital work in instructing me and giving me great advice and encouragement. She's always ready to put in a word of advice and explain how I can do something better.
Thanks guys so much for your encouragement and answering my questions!

I showed this to my parents and they thought it was a photograph at first, an absolutely stunning piece of my favorite breed of horse, I can't get over all the detail you put into this.

Glad to be of service *grin.*
He turned out lovely. I know you said you it had gotten a little tedious working on it, I take it breaking it up with blocking in the shadows for the rest of it helped?
I love the little chin and jaw wiskers as well as the soft highlight on his lower neck. All nice little touches that shows the care and consideration you put in your work.

Yes it did help. I defiantly got caught up in doing the details as I went and in doing so found it hard to move on to the next section for fear of messing up the flow of it. I think you can see in the walkthrough where I did that then stopped and shaded more all over. But really in this piece a lot of the shading itself was done by the hairs b/c I changed colors a lot as I moved in and out of the shadow.

Thanks! I'm pleased with my progress so far. Coming from two years ago thinking "digital art is not true art" to getting a tablet september '09, to submitting December Chill. Yes, I think I've come a long way. haha

HAHA I thought the same about digital art
But I still think it's a nice training, but traditional techniques are more difficult!
You don't have a Ctr-+Z there An you can't change the colors/contrast of the finished painting
