Project: 2010 e-Val Report

Brief: To typeset the 2010 e-Val Report for both print and online

Execution: The MRC’s e-Val system is an online survey to gather data on the outputs and outcomes of MRC-funded research, and is broken down into 10 sections. A vast amount of data is generated from this survey, and it was to present a challenge to organise and convey all of that data in an easy to understand manner that was not intimidating to the reader. I choose to split each e-Val section into it’s own chapter, and made sure that all graphs and charts were full page widths with plenty of white space to ensure legibility. To help make the navigation of the document (especially the printed version) as easy as possible, I colour coded each chapter into one of the 8 MRC corporate colours. The only version was split into a separate PDF for each chapter, and interactive navigation was added for website addresses and footnote references to make the online experience more accessible.
