Client: The Medical Research Council

Project: September/October 2011 Issue of NETWORK Magazine

Brief: To produce the September/October 2011 issue of NETWORK, the external MRC magazine.

Execution: A very concise page plan was provided right at the beginning of the project, however there was to be a long delay in receiving final copy due to many key members of staff being on annual summer holiday. To ensure that this delay did not affect the production schedule of the magazine, I used the estimated word counts from the page plan to layout the entire magazine. This allowed me the time to work out story placement and image allocation long before the final copy arrived, meaning that once text was provided it was simply a matter of cut and paste into the finalised layout.
