Oto Rin is a third year student at U.A. High School, training to become a Pro Hero. However, not much is known about eir history, thanks in part to U.A. faculty keeping their mouths shut about the student who has familial ties to both villains and the yakuza. Ey is also the protagonist of the fanfiction, The Dark Side of the Moon.
███ Appearance
Oto is a pale young woman with an athletic build. Ey possesses visible muscle, but is not as structured as first year student Nenka Iwayama. Oto has multiple tattoos and piercings in eir ears. Eir hair and eyes are both black, and eir hair is styled in a standard mohawk with an undercut.
Oto wears the standard female U.A. uniform, however, ey is commonly seen also wearing the male U.A. uniform.
Eir style is goth (mainly modern aesthetic), but eir style also bleeds into punk fashion. Above is one of eir day outfits, but that is just one of many. However, while not depicted, Oto also wears dark lipstick, eyeshadow, and eyeliner very often to contrast eir pale skin.
Oto's hero costume is mainly a fashion statement, and draws inspiration from the samurai and ronin, as seen in the above sketch. Eir hero costume consists of a black robe, strapless top, red sash, and various aspects of samurai armor (see hero costume details for more info.)
Oto isn't the most pleasant being to be around, and as a result ey doesn't have many friends, if any at all. Ey is overcritical, tactless, and restless. Despite being one to hang in the background and not speak much, if you cross eir or do something ey doesn't like or agree with, you will hear what ey has to say . . . and ey will rip into you. Sometimes eir actually helpful advice comes off as criticism and is quite brutish, although at that time ey didn't mean for it to be that way.
Ey is also shrewd and analytical. Despite having average intelligence academically, when it comes to street smarts or battle prowess, ey's a natural. Meticulous in eir approach, Oto can quickly take apart an opponent after only a few minutes of observation and then devise a strategy to take them down. However, as previously mentioned, ey is reckless and if eir plan doesn't work, ey becomes incredibly frustrated and will essentially attack until exhausted. Ey will become compulsive to the point of exhausting eirself out for the opponent. No patience . . . tsk, tsk.
Above all else, Oto is secretive. Ey does not talk about eir history or family openly. Very few know eir history . . . very, very few.

Overall Abilities: While nowhere on the level of the Big Three, ey is capable enough as a member of class 3-A. Physically, capable to at least be on par with the rest of eir classmates, but academically ey's pretty average, more or less. Ey likes to study in groups, or ey won't study at all. The physical aspects of class and exams are more suited to eir tastes and strengths.
Enhanced Strength — due to Oto working out extensively, eir bodily strength is greatly increased, with strong muscle and tough bone. Eir physical prowess is less than Mirio's, but rivals Nenka's, who is almost as strong of Mirio in terms of raw punching power. Eir is still incredibly capable in hand to hand combat.
Leadership Skills — Oto has immense skill in terms of observation and analysis. Within moments of entering combat, Oto can determine the general scale of an opponent's quirk and abilities, and come up with a strategy on the fly, and can get others to execute it alongside eir.
███ Quirk
Bonefide (ボーンファイド Bōnfaido): Oto has complete control over the bones of eirself, including growing, shaping, manipulating density/weight, creating constructs, etc. As a result of eir time at U.A., Oto has expanded eir quirk now to include the bones of others, both the living and the dead. Additionally, eir skin is like an exoskeleton, making an outer shell that looks like normal skin. This exoskeleton is incredibly tough and durable, but ey has to moisturize often in order to keep it healthy, especially after shedding.
There are several drawbacks to this quirk. Eir exoskeleton is incredibly brittle: if bent too far or damaged too much, eir exoskeleton breaks and exposes eir soft skin underneath. Additionally, ey has a “molting” session, where the exoskeleton sheds and must be rebuilt. As for the bones, ey has to drink lots of milk and take calcium and vitamin D supplements (amongst other things) like Seiyo to keep eir bones strong.
When it comes to manipulating the bones of others, either living or dead, it's more difficult to do, as those bones are not as durable as eirs, so this ability is mainly a temperary thing, or is ey is too exhausted to use eir own bones.
The worst drawback, as is for any quirk, is overuse. Seeing as ey are using eir own bones and bone density to create modes of offense (i.e. bone blades, etc.), overuse results in fatigue and brittle bones. Should ey go too far, even tripping could shatter a bone. Ey needs to rest and take in as much calcium, vitamin D, and other vitamins and minerals in order to help eir body repair the bones and regain density.
- Bonesaw: by exposing the bones in eir hands or feet, Oto can rabidly manipulate eir exposed bones to create a sharp, cutting saw. Gruesome? Yes. Effective? Also yes.
- Entombed: considered the most ghastly of eir special moves, Oto uses all of eir strength to "overgrow" eir bones and use them as either an offensive weapon or a defensive barrier; a maze of bone. This move can be enhanced with the bones of others (preferably those not of the living).
- this move is not only taxing but also incredibly painful. Oto runs the risk of passing out during this move, even with eir painkillers in effect, and excessive damage to the massive bones can essentially kill eir.
- Ribcage: mainly a defensive move, Oto releases eir ribcage to capture and/or restrain eir opponent.
- this move is incredibly risky, as over manipulation to catch an airborne target runs the risk of increased pain and bone fracture, or if the opponent punches/cuts hard enough, bone shattering and breakage will most definitely occur.

- Black Robe: mainly aesthetic, the black robe covers eir body, and it's easy to slip off when ey uses their quirk. Aside from this, there is not much covering eir upper body, leaving it quite vulnerable; however, seeing as ey uses the bones mainly found in the upper body, breathability and accessibility is necessary.
- Kobokama (trousers): these trousers are breathable and permeable, so when ey uses a leg bone for eir quirk, minimal damage is done to the clothing. Additionally, they are temperature controlling, keeping eir warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
- Kusazuri (thigh covers): while unribbed like the standard samurai attire, the covers still funtion as covers, and are made with a unique alloy added to the leather to make them more durable and protective.
- Haidate (thigh guards): also unlike their traditional samurai counterparts, these thigh guards have the ribbed pockets, and not the knotches. These pockets, locked closer to the sash at eir waist, houses and protects medical supplies, like eir painkillers. Additionally, these are made of carbon fibers, leather, and polyurethane to increase durabilty and strength.
- Suneate + Hiza Yoroi (shin guards + knee guards): both guards are fused together. Like the haidate, they are made of carbon fibers, leather, and polyurethane. The kyahan (leggings) found beneath the suneate is breatheable and permeable, like the others.
- Waraji (straw sandals): while traditionally straw sandles, these sandles are made of leather and canvas, with extra padding to support eir feet and provide comfort. Additionally, there is a small device in place to device eir feet to improve circulation and keep eir muscles loose, to prevent cramping and muscle ache. The tabi (split toesock) is made of breathable fabric so ey doesn't feel confined. Furthermore, the sandals and socks are incredibly flexible and permeable, so when Oto uses the Bonesaw move on eir feet, damage is minimal.

Oto's name contains the kanji for "backbone, spine" (呂) and "dignified, cold" (凛)
- Ey was born in the Wakayama prefecture, Kansai region.
- Oto identifies as both non-binary and a woman to acknowledge that ey loves eir female-coded body, but doesn’t always feel it accurately represents ey.
- Ey is also polysexual.
- Ey comes from a yakuza-affiliated family, socioeconomic standing unknown but one would assume ey’s well off financially
- Ey only got into U.A. thanks to the anonymous sponsorship of Ahyma Kurokawa, a “villain” of the Meta Liberation Army who ey knows
- Oto has a pet ball python named “Sunūto,” which literally means “snoot” in Japanese

Oto's a bit picky with eir friends and allies, as is a result of eir upbringing and plans to be a Pro Hero. Oto however sympathizes with other members of the yakuza and their clans, so ey'd probably be an ally as long as the clan isn't villainous/evil aligned.

sweats nervously i wouldn't say the shindou clan are villainous or evil aligned, they just do things that are for profit. loan sharking, extortion, lobbying, threatening, torturing, that sort of thing. they aren't an evil organization that band together for the sake of doing bad things, they do bad things with a purpose, that is, we want power and status and money. that being said, oto planning on being a pro hero puts em at odds with noru instantly, because noru goes to a school where delinquent students are given a choice on what they do with their lives, and he chooses to go on to take up the mantle of his father, that is, as head of his clan. he'd consider oto a shame to eir clan, unfortunately. but that's interesting, because if oto's part of a recognizable clan, then most likely noru would recognize em too and make an enemy out of em LOL

Had the circumstances of Oto's birth been different, and had eir mother not made substantial changes to the Tomiie Clan once she rose into power, Oto and Noru would have similar alignments and ideologies, so i believe they would have been allies. However, when Arara made the Tomiie Clan became less violent and Oto became determined to defy eir father, eir life became aligned with good/neutral and a more righteous path.
But that's really interesting! Had Oto taken a different route, perhaps they could've been allies, or even friends.
