Just a compilation of image based lighting test renders.........faults and all...thought somebody may be interested to see how they came out.rendered in carrara.

im glad youre showing comparison renders, this is awesome! i have a few q's, hope you dont mind
1. what hdr map did you use for the hdr render?!?
2. why are you differentiating hdr and ibl. i though them 1 and the same, no?!?
3. what did "you" do in c5pro to get what you call an "ibl" image?!?
i started something very similar for bryce, had brycers posting comparison renders. i guess they got too bored, lol.. theres no way it could be done in c5pro, far too may features and settings to be acct'ed for... sadly, most arent that dedicated to improving their work and lighting techniques...

you're right there arn't many tuts about...do you have pro..the one with transposer?

ya i have pro not sure about the transposer thingy. lol but i dont use poser either i just use d|s. played on it all day and still lost hahaha

its a pity that you dont use poser....with transposer you can import your poser doc intact and and render with carrara.....so easy
and also keeps all transparency intact automatically...you can even import the lighting from poser as well.
also if you have enough mem you can have both programs open and if you wanted to tweak your pose say or a material, whatever you change in poser will be changed in carrara on the fly.
it really is the easiest tool i have found to work with poser.
i dont know if this will work with d/s as it looks for the poser installation

thera are a lot of things wrong if you look close...it was only a lighting test.....and i didnt actually do the modelling of the figures
