HDRI sure makes for more realism, but your textures have to be up to the task or it can look painted or plasticky. This worked well.

I have found that the quality of the actual HDRI image makes quite a difference...i have downloaded some free ones that i was not that impressed with...but then they were free....i may try to make some myself and see how i get on...

I agree with you..i think with the addition of some point lights, that HDRI map would be a good one...
