Description So I decided to try out the program Campaign Cartographer 3 to make one of my maps. This is my second try, after about four hours of just playing around with it. I think it came out okay...

Torta - Mostly desolate island located far north in the world of Benari. About 100 miles long at its widest point, It consists of mainly mountains and an active volcano called Kimny.

Capital City - Gibbleport. A walled in, tightly controlled city, filled with guilds. High security, and lots of secrets, anyone who wants to be a somebody goes to Gibbleport to get guild training. Top artisans of every kind keep the secluded city running, kept secure by the ideal that Gibbleport is far from distractions that would produce inferior disciples. Once a year, Gibbleport opens its doors completely to those willing to pay the fee, allowing them exclusive access to the best their guilds have to offer for a whole week. It is a famous festival, and known to fill with nobles quickly.

Politics - Consisting of only one functioning city on the island, the place is run by a council elect, shying away from the concept of a theocracy or a monarchy destined by the god(s). The council consists of a representative from each guild, a method of trying to make sure equal representation is given to each running establishment. Creating a new guild is extremely hard in the system, instead tried and true guilds expand and absorb different branches, making them more multi-functional than restrictive in many cases. There are of course those guilds that stick strictly to their guns.

Domestic policy - Being a scholarly city, violence and turmoil is heavily frowned upon, and there are very few pubs or 'down houses' (Brothels) around. Most find themselves hard squeezed to shut down if they cause problems. There is a police and defense force in Torta, both used to keep the people and their secrets safe. There is no offensive force in Torta, there is simply not enough people to form one, and they have no desire to. There is a native group of Tortans, though small and immigrants to the island themselves. Only those who train to become scholarly teachers on Torta are allowed to become citizens, everyone else considered a 'student guest'. The only thing that this bars them from is setting up permanent residence on Torta. They must be actively enrolled in some kind of training or learning to stay on Torta.

Religion - Due to the varying nature of the city, considering the fact that all kinds of people are welcome from all over Benari, religion is an open affair. All non-violent religious affairs are welcome. There is always turmoil among individuals or smaller sects, but the main policy of the land is if isn't isn't illegal, then you're free to do as you please. Any who die on Torta are shipped back to their families so that they may take care of the body as their religion or beliefs see fit, free of charge.

Foreign policy - Torta gains almost all of its capital from teaching foreigners. It is on good but distant terms with every country in Benari, choosing to keep out of foreign affairs if any arise. It only takes their students, not their problems. In any strife, considering the lack of offensive army, they stay out of it. No one complains, it keeps their brightest and most promising people safely tucked away. Long story short, leave us alone, we leave you alone.

Yay whole lots of information...Might have to add more as I think of it...
