Personality: Crow is a chilly, stern individual. With her packmates she is social to the point of politeness but not much further. Early on, she learned to keep her head down, to keep out of trouble, and work to prove, in her quiet way, that she’s worth the hassle.
Her outward demeanour is stoic, but inside there is a real workaholic, desperate to prove herself of use to those around her.
Backstory:
Crow’s parents barely even liked each other by the time she was born. It turned out that a fellows ability to produce a very plump brace of pheasants on demand and make approximately a weeks worth of smooth small-talk did not actually translate into his ability to be a worthy mate and partner. It was a little late, for poor Crow, however.
Unfortunately, she was born into the middle of a snippy, unhappy little family.
Her parents were not in the slightest determined to make things work; they largely used their pup as a source of oneupmanship, each trying to court her favour and approval.
The split was inevitable. Her parents actions, however, were not. Both grabbed at the pup, her mother’s teeth digging _too_ deep into her hind leg as she was pulled away from her father- who’d had the sense to let go.
The poor pup limped as she grew, for months, growing under the pressure of being potentially shunned by her home if she didn’t steady up.
And shockingly, a gangly teenage growth spurt found her with all four paws firm, and the leg stiff and scarred but well usable- if sore on a bad day.
She withdrew from her mother, hurting, still- and hurting more with every wise-crack ‘oh, well, it wasn’t so bad’
She left the den and searched her father out. He was a smiling creature, who introduced her to her bumbling, tiny half-siblings.
It wasn’t all useless though, her father was a good hunter. So between babysitting and getting to know the strange, smiling fellow she had barely seen over the past year… she threw her entire weight into becoming a more useful member of her pack.
