Description ahh new stuff! sorta....

well previously, my preferred medium has been digital based, either 2d with photoshop or 3d with 3ds max, but recently I got into a print making program at school and have been having a blast learning.

So I realized the night before my first copper engraving project was due, that it was indeed due. So instead of trying to come up with a new design, I used a old image and transfered it onto the copper. The color image itself had a lengthy production time about a year ago but then I transfered it to the copper in a few minutes after finding miraculously a grease pencil.

I then spent about 6 hours engraving this piece of copper under a 45x microscope (the plate is 6x4) and the next day I spent making my set of 8 prints. They turned out pretty well, I only wish that I could have spent more time on it to include all the detail I have in the original piece.

The other two pieces are uploaded, so don't forget to check out the actual prints. I hope you all like the pieces and appreciate just how much time is put into printmaking

If I had another couple of arms, I'd use them to play some impossible guitar parts! Great concept! Very eastern!

Very interesting (about the printmaking)

Also very strange (about the content ). Also neat! What was the inspiration for this?

well, the imagery is taken from tradition depictions of the Hindu goddess of Rivers, Knowledge, Creativity, and Music

thanks for the positive comments

Very distinct. Colorful. I like it a lot, and it says more than you think it does. I likes. 10/10.

thank you, I tried to keep in most of the important symbolism and then modernizing some of the devices that represent the goddess's wisdom. I don't use color often, it doesn't scare me anymore but this piece needed to be as rich as possible. I'm still not quite happy with the background, but I can't find the backup dvd with the original so this piece is finished.
