Description
The "Ripper" is one of the most common Tylon sidearms found in the 'Verse, despite not being usable by most races in its standard pattern due to its unmanageable heft and bone shaking recoil. It is believed that the Ripper constitutes for 1 in 6 purchasable sidearms in the military and civilian market combined, 62% of which are TCF manufactured originals, while the other 38% are clones or pattern variants.

Primarily used by the Tylon Confederate military, small elements of the Draconian Planetary Defence Corps and mercenary groups, the Ripper pattern has seen over 700 years of service with minor design improvements every decade or so. Other, lower calibre clone patterns have risen in its time, but have never been able to match the reliability of the TCF manufactured Ripper, due to the difficulty of replicating the weapon's manufacturing techniques, and clone ammunition presented jamming issues, such as feeding malfunctions in the helical magazine, and spent shells getting caught in the ejection port.

The original TCF pattern Ripper is chambered in 12.7x47.5mm Hellburst (usually explosive). A hydrogen propelled rocket round which gives the weapon's signature "roar" when fired at full auto. The pistol's handcannon-esque calibre and fully automatic capability has granted it its menacing reputation of literally "ripping" unfortunate souls apart, with exit holes the size of watermelons and completely blowing off limbs with ease. Its reputation is enough to deter any undesirable when it is seen holstered at a mercenary's hip.
