Greetings! After my long hiatus, I am here to present to you my work in progress: the Mystery Box! Already released on the SFM Workshop, they were inspired by this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=w88-Pf… . I have taken it upon myself to redesign these guys to be less LEGO-y and more in line with their in-universe concept, as described by M1NDxBEND3R. So far, there are two versions of the model: one with thin limbs, and one with more accurate proportions to the set. However, due to my inexperience with texturing and such, they still need a lot of work. As such, I have a question:

Do any of you know how to work with VTF and VMT files? Some pointers and tips would be much appreciated, especially when it comes to making certain parts translucent and/or shiny. Really, I would just like some help figuring out how to do texturing in general, as that white strip between the orange and grey does not look good.
