no singular inspiration as such...the customer wants a religious-themed sleeve including clouds, sun-rays and birds (amongst other things). Due to certain restrictions we chose to get the birds down first, and because they are so small I thought that silhouettes would be most effective, as opposed to any detail.
There was no reference / inspiration or stencil for the placement - we just sat down and talked about where they might look best. I've done a few similar designs recently so am getting the hang of the motions! it's very similar to depicting leaves blowing in the wind....nature has both form AND random elements

yeh i had a read and dude that would be great inspiration for a tattoo! you could do some very nice volko merschky style raven and skull...apocalypse....maybe with some lettering of the poem.....hmmmm....

The Raven? You don't need permission. Poe has been dead for quite some time. In fact, since 1849. Guy was a Gothic Romance writer.
