I've always liked the idea of modernizing old tanks, but wouldn't a KV tank make for a rather over-weight, under-armed vehicle?

+-50t is over-weight? If you consider new powerful engine, modern armor and technologies...
Under-armed? In my opinion, In modern asymetric warfare the biggest threat to tanks are attack helicopers and portable ATGMs. That's why I chose smaller-calibre rapid-fire cannon instead of large calibre anti tank gun. In case of meeting enemy tank I equiped this vehicle with heavy ATGM

I fully understand this is not meant to go against enemy MBTs, but isn't this thing a bit less wieldy than a Centauro? Seems it might be a bit faster, but still...
