1st ANNUAL HOLIDAY SHOW - GROUP PRIZES ADDEDWelcome to the Yukon! swampwater-cathouse and Phantom-Ridge-Ranch are delighted to be hosting a new competition.
Location: A massive snow lodge somewhere in Northern Canada [modeled loosely on Banff Springs Hotel]
Lodgings: All shedus will be stabled in warm, safe cabins. Their handlers will be able to sleep on the second floor of the cabins or in the massive hotel.
Dates of Competition: December 19th - 25th [competition runs from December 15, 2014 - January 31, 2015]

Logan patted Snowball's flank, though he doubted the Shedu could feel it through the layers of thick winter tack. The race had only just begun, they were only a few minutes in, so Logan didn't have Snowball running too fast. They came around the first bend in the mountain and ran into Nepthys and her handler, whom Logan couldn't see under the giant parka that mirrored his. Nevertheless, she (I assumed it was a she?) waved at him and dug a water bottle out for Nepthys, who stood on a rock, eager to keep going. Logan chuckled. He would probably be passed up later by these two - Nepthys was a great racer. He started Snowball down the path again, and the dead and icy shrubbery crackled underfoot. It would start snowing soon and the little cat wasn't quite quite warmed up enough yet.

My first entry for Soul-Cats for Nepthys's future Queen Cat status! This is the White Christmas Endurance Race in the Holiday Event that's going on right now. I'm including Snowball, first of all because this race has an added bonus for adding another competitor, and there's an overall +2 bonus for having another competitor in each event you both enter, and that might help Nepthys, and also because his name is Late Winter and I couldn't resist.

I also decided to wing it with the tack since I have no idea what winter tack is supposed to look like. Basically it's a fluffy cotton doggy sweater with a layer of rubber on top for insulation and then a layer of leather. There's also a lightweight and flexible neck warmer and plastic reflective shoulder pads that allow others to see you through the snow. Finally, there's flexible little leg warmers and paw protection thingies that help keep away the ice. I hope that's okay c:

Note for Judges: Late Winter 3487 is the bonus cat. This is the entry for Nepthys.

I also hope Snowball is okay for the commission. I really did it for the bonus for Nepthys, but I mean it really couldn't hurt to have him there, right? ;w; Also, the 500 can go to my donation pool since I don't know how commission widgets work c:
