I used to fence actively with foil and épee, good times. Rather more abstract and sketchy painting this time. (My old deviantart icon still seems to be the rapier donning rooster. Such bravado...)Oil colors on mdf-board.

(I never know how to react to work like this, to me it feels like you managed to capture a bit of a dream and it doesn't necessarily mean much, I mean not more than dreams generally do, but it's a feat in itself that you managed it. And then I think maybe there really is meaning behind it and I'm stupid for not getting it. Thing is, I like it either way, and if I see enough of these, I feel like I "get" the landscape in that artist's subconscious. Which is certainly a very special way of knowing someone, rarely accessible with non-artistic people.)

I make my own constructs (pfft) from the comments, it was actually really helpful to compare the technique with charcoal drawing, as they are somehow similar.
