They are the food prey and we are the Shadowhunters!also, plot twist, Simon is a titan shifter lol
TMI x SNK crossover sort of inspired by the German character posters of CoB movie. And judging from my tumblr dashboard, I know lots of my fellow Shadowhunters are also Attack on Titan fans (though there are also quite a lot of TMI fans that unfollowed me because i spammed them with SNK stuff, lol poor unfortunate souls).
i wanted to add the 3d maneuver gears (& changed the blades to seraph blades) but 3dmg is a bitch to draw~ & I recycled jace's head from my other TMI fan art coz i'm a lazy bitch. might add Izzy & Alec (& maybe Magnus) later.

Well they aren't exactly 'my' German.
The German words are a sentence of lyrics from a theme song of the anime, Attack on Titan www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqLOKz… & I think you need to know and be in the fandom to understand the confusion about the meaning of and the jokes people has been making about this particular sentence (& if you're actually in the fandom by any chance I apologise in advance).
From various sites & forums about the lyrics (not to mention Google translate), I know 'essen' literally means 'food', but in English most people changed it to 'prey' (even the German fans) to, I dunno, maybe makes it more catchy or have better meaning or something.
Anyway, I'm Asian & I know practically zero German, save for ich liebe dich, scheisse, guten tag & nein lol.

yeah, instead of asking a german what the shit means they are trying to say they just go off on the first thing that google translate spits out. Happens a lot in Japanese media which makes me cringe every time. I could see where they were going with it seeing the theme of the show where people are literally eaten alive, but given the actual thing they want to say as in a hunter/prey relationship it sounds dumb as hell

Lol I don't know whether the people who wrote this lyrics even consults any German people for the right words or not. I did actually asked my friend, who is half-German, what's the meaning of the lyrics & when she told me it seems to me like it's the titans who are singing that since it said 'they are the food'- with the food being the humans. When I first heard the song I didn't even noticed that that one sentence was in German (i thought it's in Japanese too) until I saw on some sites. but I guess it's not unusual that in lots of Japanese (& Chinese & Korean) songs, when they... inserted some foreign language in the songs, especially English, the words sometimes just doesn't makes sense or the grammar is horrible. makes me cringe too, though I don't really care since I know English isn't their first language. But anyway if I'm not mistaken I read somewhere when the official lyrics came out, people said the words are actually not even 'Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die Jäger', but it's still in German. I forgot what it is & if the actual lyrics makes more sense than the one the fandom is used to.

Snk is an anime, and it stands for Shingeki no Kyojin, or Attack on Titan (which I totally recommend people to watch, or read the manga, even you're not really into both of them). The opening theme for the anime has the lyrics 'sie sind das essen und wir sind die jäger' (since the main character is named Eren Jaeger & he's a German & the setting of the story is somewhere in Europe, I guess). I saw the German posters for TMI with the words 'schattenjager' on Jace, Alec, Clary & Izzy's posters & these days whenever I saw the word 'jäger' or 'jaeger' my mind will immediately think of Attack on Titan. Hahaa~ so yeah that's how basically I decided to draw TMI characters in SNK characters' outfits.

Ah. Now I understand^^ Well I know about Attack on the Titan from Tumblr. I just don´t watch it or intend to because I´m not into anime or manga and, idk. It´s just not my thing.
