For the record, I absolutely hate that I decided to make this dumb thing. However, I'm only making the Level 1 form for Ex-Aid. I'm basically treating it/all of them how I treat Hesei Rider civilian appearances and rider weapons: lead/title riders only. So it's this stupid lil' bastard and no others.As you may have guessed, I haven't warmed to these Level 1 rider forms yet. The series is going strong and there are plenty of interesting story threads/arcs, but I really don't like it when these show up. I'm still hoping there comes a point where they're ignored and all the riders go straight from civie-Level 2. Fingers crossed.
It actually wasn't hard to make. I had the lines done for a solid week and a half but just couldn't convince myself to set aside time and do all the coloring. But hey, he's done. Stupid lil' bastard. Remaking the chest screen slightly larger was probably the biggest nuisance. There's no actual body base of mine that it's built upon; the size was scaled to the belt I had already made for the Level 2 body.

Amazing work as always loving all this pixel art it really amazes me that you put so much time and effort into your pixel work can't wait to see what's next but have you seen the current Ex Aid episode which features the debut of Genm's upgrade form because it looks amazing because after the transformation the form acts like a robotic Zombie

If you ever DO end up making more for some reason...looks like all it really needs is a new head and change the colors (and weapon icons) on the chest. So there's that silver lining at least

Yea, the silver lining is there. But the chest effect/coloring is a bit more annoying than the standard rider's body size. Plus, I just really really don't like these things. I already know Ex-Aid has a couple more I've basically committed to making. So treating them similar to how I do weapons and civies is perfectly fine for me.

I really like the Level 1 forms

Yeah, the chibi forms do kinda suck. But I rather have a shit ugly form than a lazy recolor.

Kinda depends for me, especially on the recolor...and more importantly how many of either that series has.
Ex-Aid has a chibi dumb thing for every rider; makes sense in show, sure, but is overwhelming. But on the flip side, Genm is a great recolor; and the only one so far.

I like these forms when they do comedic things with them, like Emu reacting to the Chibi form, or the DDR scene where Brave explodes. But when they try to make super dramatic fights with them, it usually doesn't work out. I'll applaud them for trying to do something different, but different doesn't always equal good.
...So does this mean you'll be making Santa Ex-Aid? Or is that not happening?

Fair. But if you were to replace the level 1 with level 2 in those examples (having an extreme reaction to it and the dancing sequence with Ex-Aid and Brave) would the scene really be different? You'd still get the same result/comedy. So while I see what you're saying, the level 1st still feel pointless.

Yeah, I guess it is pointless in some ways. But regardless, these forms will be forgotten about later on. They'll probably only show up in Transformation Sequences after the first 15 or so episodes, whenever the "Big Game Changer" happens.
Alright then. I'll leave it at that. Speaking of that, am I alone in thinking that Ex-Aid's Ghost form looks cooler then Ghost himself?

I think it looks a good bit better; if only because A) I hate the series; still haven't finished it off by watching subs for the last three eps. and B) while I liked it as a design, Ghost's heavy armor pieces got to be a bit too bulky, so Ex-Aid slimming it down is really nice.

It defiantly looks strange, But I'm happy that they were able to make a decent explanation for this thing's existence in the show. My biggest gripe with the Level 1 bodies is that they are all identical, and some of them don't quite go with the helmets. Ex-Aid and Brave? Look pretty good. Lazer? Could be better, but passable. Snipe? Doesn't exactly look right with all the dark colors on his helmet. It's a limitation of how they wanted the figure gimmick to work, but it still bugs me.
I will give them credit on this though, the "I'm a Kamen Rider" sound is easily one of the best henshin sound effects in a long time. And apparently the Legend Rider Gashats are gonna say "I'm a Legend Rider," which is also kind of neat.

I kinda agree, but not by much. I think Brave looks best because his blue hair/ponytail is so minimal and the rest of his helmet shares colors with the level 1 base. But they're all, even just their base bodies, still dumb looking things. That they need to CGI nearly all action shots for them baffles me as to why the level 1s are still in use. Then again, they're still using the critical strike effects, so maybe the CGI budget this year is hella high.

Yeah, the effects in Ex-Aid have been pretty consistently good. Which makes me happy, because it means they can do more visually interesting fights. That the Debut of Snipe's LV 3 form. That was pretty cool.
Not too happy about us already getting the Dragon Knight Hunter forms though. I feel like we should have at least gotten a 2 or 3 episode break from Upgrades.

Yea a little breather between forms/riders/gashats would be nice. I unfortunately don't think we'll get much of one til the later half of the teens. If the upcoming episode is just Ex-Aid using the dragon mess, then I wouldn't be surprised if the following three are Brave, Snipe, and Lazer using it too. Then Ex-Aid's Double Action; then Paradox; then zombie-Genm. Then maybe a decent break from introducing gashats/forms.
But it is a show based on toys, so they've gotta show off the toys. Gaim was totally guilty of front-loading forms/riders/lockseeds in the first 10 eps as well.

Yeah. I'm not a fan of them introducing something new each episode. But I do think they're doing it better then Ghost so far, sense Ex-Aid isn't the only one getting buffed. At least it's somewhat even for now.

Also true. The episodes have had pretty decent pacing so far. Heck, I've even felt some real emotion for Hiro and whatever Lazer's name was after their backstories got touched on.
