I agree with you Neil. Too often comments on nudes are about the models rather than the pictures. Why do people insist on scoring the model and not the picture? I get tired of it but it seems to come with the territory.

I think sometimes people don't realise how offensive they're being.

good luck Neil .... people see what they see .... kudos for always having such a simple, natural touch to your portraits as in most of your work

Hey, i've no crit nor judgement.
It's just honest, simple. Just a portrait. A true portrait.
This is the kind of photograph that is not trying to impress with backgrounds, lighting, aesthetics nor digital manipulation. Just natural photography.
No frills.
The image and the subject are what they are.

Critique should be restricted to the technical attributes of the photographic process itself. The model is an important part of this overall look of the image, but it's the photographers job to decide how she/he is portrayed in the finished photograph. The model is a person and should be respected as such, just because a photograph is nude does not necessarily mean it should be overtly sexual. Some people really need to understand this!

I'm sure the commenter had no concept of the fact that commenting on someones appearance in that fashion could be construed as offensive. Talking about her as if she's a piece of cattle at the market.

How can i put this? The subject is beautiful, shes' got a simple but attractve figure, her breasts might not be the best but they're definately enjoyable, perk nipples, her face looks somewhat tired but a simple natural beauty as well, and finally what everybody will most likely comment on the most pervertedly her pubic hair it's thick obviously but has been kept trimmed makinga runway-esque pattern. All in all the photo is beautiful yet simple, a definate 7.5 out of 10. It could have been pushed over the edge with a more appealing background and more provacative pose but the photographer captured the subtle beauty of the subject.

GreatDragonSeiryu, in a recent journal entry you begin by saying "First and Foremost I comment from an artistic perspective". However, based on your comments here (which is all I can know of you), it would seem that here at least, your perspective is not wholly "artistic." Your comments on Cassandra's breasts, face and pubic hair, and your words about "a...more provacative pose" [sic] indicate that you were distracted from the "artistic perspective" by your own reactions. Now, in a photo that tries to be erotic, those are valid reactions--but not here.
One of the things I've always appreciated about Talkingdrum's work is that his photos never mean to evoke an erotic response, but to show his co-artists (every model is a co-artist) as they are. Their nudity is not a sexual come-on, but a literal baring of self. I for one feel that Cassandra is more beautiful in ways that count for not augmenting her breasts or sculpting her pubic hair; but that's my own reaction, having nothing to do with the co-artists' intent as shown by the apparently simple setting and processing and the cool colors. Cassandra and Talkingdrum's other female co-artists are not Venus avatars--just human women in very human portraits.
These are things a true "artistic perspective" perceives, often at once, subconsciously if not consciously, because this perspective sees beyond our own reactions.

It's amazing how many people judge others by their own standards: "and finally what everybody will most likely comment on the most pervertedly her pubic hair". It may come as a surprise to you but I have over 200 nudes posted here on DA and I can't think of a single comment ever having been made on the models genital area. I think it's likely that the only person "pervertedly" making such a comment on this particular picture will be turn out to be you "her pubic hair it's thick obviously but has been kept trimmed making a runway-esque pattern.". As for you other comments on the models physique, frankly that's just rude. You give her a 7.5? You say on your profile "Status: Single & Virgin". That is why you are and will remain that way, you have an awful lot to learn.
As for the picture itself, it is not supposed to be erotic. To have the model hold some erotic pose would defeat the purpose of the photograph as would some distracting background. I am presenting Cass in as simple and honest way as I can possibly achieve: no makeup, no clothes no frills. Just Cassandra as she is. It's unfortunate that your immature adolescent mind is not able to appreciate that.
