Another nice shot, Mr Talkingdrum. I do like how you concentrate on creating a 'story' or 'message' in your photos. So many photographers seem to be intent on complex poses, and dramatic lighting, and strange post-processing. But you just let the model talk to the viewer through your lens. Nice one...

That's the aim, glad you like it. I just ask the models to wear little or no make up and to do what comes naturally to them. If they look a little uncomfortable I move them to a different part of the room or lean them up against a wall or get them to sit down. I engage them in conversation and after a little while I think they forget they are naked and I get to capture a moment.

That's very interesting, and it obviously works, because your models do seem relaxed and 'themselves', and something special comes through then.
Do you use mainly paid models, or are they friends (or friends of friends)? Because they do seem very 'natural' and comfortable with you.

Apart from a couple of paid models they are just amateurs off the street. I'm running an ad in the paper for women who want to come along and model for me and I just photograph whoever shows up.

I'm nowhere near ready to attempt nude photography yet, but I am keen to do a lot more portraiture. At the risk of testing your patience further, would it be possible to email me a copy of the advert you use for models? I might be able to adapt it to find people to sit for portraits.
