Got up at 6 a.m. to be at this vantage point for sunrise. When the sun came up it was completely clouded over, in fact I felt a few spots of rain. A little disappointed I took a few shots and then for a moment the sun broke through. Not quite what I was hoping to get but at least came away with something.The ViΓ±ales Valley, you kind of just had to be there.

Photography can be so frustrating! You get up before dawn to catch the sunrise and then it's cloudy! It seems to me that infinite patience is a real attribute for a photographer.
Mind you, I think the interplay between the shady and sunlit parts of this landscape create an interesting pattern that a "classic" sunrise wouldn't have allowed...

I think it's a gorgeous photograph, actually. The different colors everywhere, particularly the contrast between the gray clouds and the blue ones, and all the fresh green, it's just all very pretty. Beautiful place, and a great picture of it! :]
