I was playing Age of Empires 3 recently and wiped out a BIG platoon of guard lancers (cavalry with lances for shish-kebabing infantry) with a small force of champion Nootka Clubmen (men with enormous clubs), Iroquois Tomahawks (guys with throwing axes) and Cherokee Riflemen. It was so cool... although there were only a few of my native americans left at the end. i was inspired so i drew THIS! GYAR MATEYS!anyway, native american buffs ( im sure there are some on DA) will kebab me for my (probably) hopelessly inaccurate rendering of a native american with a hunting rifle. so there you have it. comments?
(note: must be zoomed in for more detail. however i think that the zoomed version is too... er... zoomed...)

Pretty good but my only complaint is that the natives wouldn't have had rifles with pistol grips.

Thanks for this, I basically didn't do any research at all, much to my ongoing shame. I keep considering redrawing this with actual accurate details.

Well it's a good drawing and I like your lines and the detail you put into it, but were you basing this man from a certain tribe or a mix? Because I've never seen those types of clothing before and he looks much too european to pass for a native american.

I was doing this totally off the top of my head, no dedicated research whatsoever. If I were to redo this I'd definitely go back and actually do some research with reference and stuff >.>

You did well enough, lol. I'm Cherokee (60%) and (40%) White. Not all Indians were plains indians or looked the same either. But I like your personal style here ^.^

I'm Cherokee and White and I grow a bit but I always shave it. Either way, nice picture, though the bang-like things on his hair are a bit off, it's not really the plains-esque as you have his clothes to be, but all the same, NICE!

Dude, good drawing and all, but not very native american. I'll point out a few things.
Native Americans don't grow facial hair, and those that do have some caucasianin their ancestory. The nose is a little off aswell, to norse-ish. iNfact, the whole face isn't very native american. The gun is not very acurate either. Grips like that didn't appear till around WW2. The head dress is more like a Aztec or Mayan head dress. And then the pants, not really off, but not really native american style pants.

I canβt believe how many people really believe that Natives donβt grow facial hair. Me my brothers and my dad all have facial hair and weβre full blood Creek Indians.

Yep, Iβm sure. The natives that live around me are full blood too but of mixed tribes, some of them have facial hair too.
