I originally wrote and drew this to help a fellow fanzine publisher run for the Trans Atlantic Fan Fund. It was intended to be a simple affair, without a lot of sophisticated draftsmanship. Yet it turned out to be a major headache from the start. Just forcing myself from one panel to the next bored me silly. Still, I would have stuck to it, except right in the middle of the work I suffered a moderately severe stroke. Actually, two... but the doctors diagnosed a drug that in 9 cases in 10 is perfect. But I as the misfit, who wasn't helped, and had a second stroke even worse than the first. As a result it was three or four months before I could stand to look at it. I did eventually finish it, however. By then, however, the art that was supposed to be in it had been published. Was it any wonder that I had hated it?
