Description Overview

Even after the gruelling end of the Second Ancerious War, there was no mind for peace as RANGSI military operations continued against several of its enemies across the galaxy, albeit on a smaller scale with the exception of the Allied Intervention against the Dectrose. Weapon projects developed from observing the battles against the APP and some, from salvaging their remains, continued on until completion. The 'Generation Three-Point-Five Project' was one of them, aiming to improve the technology they already had rather than embark in new fields of research and simply creating new means of application. Improvements in reactor and engine technology further allowed the weapons under the Generation 3.5 project to be more power efficient and capable of more rapid acceleration.

1. NLM-01 Pulsed Neutron Beam Missile

The NLM-01 is a more like a drone rather than a missile, essentially a flying neutron cannon launched as a missile from Raptor II pods. It comprises of two important parts; the photoneutronium lense at the front and a fusion reactor in the middle. When firing, the containment shields around the reactor are briefly lifted, allowing a 'flash' of X-rays to excite the photoneutronnium lense and release a high-energy beam of neutrons which can cause heat damage and irridiate exposed hulls, killing unprotected crew. A swarm of NLMs can be used to screen against incoming missiles and strikecraft or attack an enemy ship from all angles causing severe damage.

2. SGM-330 'Arena' Submunition Pod

The Space Guided Missile 330 'Arena' is a submunition launcher that can fire a wide variety of payloads ranging from ship armor-piercing missiles to HE-FRAG warheads for dealing with aircraft. However, its primary purpose is to act as an Area Denial weapon with the use of a large number of plasma bomblets, creating large clouds of superheated ionised gases that can melt missiles, strikecraft and even ships caught in its AOE.

3. ASAM-P1 'Starstreak' Anti-Ship Torpedo

The Starstreak is a 500m long plasma-sheathed torpedo designed for maximum armor and shield penetration. It uses the electromagnetic-sensitive ceramics from RANGSI plasma-sheathed railguns and covers the Starstreak in it. When it is fired out of a disposable mass driver tube, the electromagnetic waves superheats the ceramics to create a thin-layer of plasma that can pierce through shields and melt through armor. When deep inside an enemy ship, the Starstreak can detonate its thermonuclear charges causing severe internal damage. It will replace the Kharvon III torpedos as its smaller size means ships can store double the number. When its plasma layers are activated, its sensors and comms array are blocked. To resolve this, a long antenna-like appendage is added to the underside of the Starstreak which drops down when the plasma layers are up, enabling LIDAR tracking and remote guidance. The Starstreak is also extremely fast, capable of reaching relativistic speeds of 0.6c.

4. ASGB-P 'Super Suria' Anti-Ship Plasma Bomb

The Anti-Ship Guided Bomb-Plasma 'Super Suria' was made to complement the Starstreak, made with similar dimensions of 500m long so that it can be fired from the same mass driver tubes. While the Starstreak was envisioned as a long-range super-fast precise ship-killer, the Super Suria was a large and relatively slower AOE weapon, meant to heavily damage entire fleets and fighter swarms within its radius. Its enormous tear-drop like casing contained a massive triple-alpha nuclear explosive lined with layers of hydrogen nano-fuel pellets. When detonated, the nuclear explosive within superheats the nano-fuel pellets creating a spherical ball of plasma that rapidly expands due to the shockwave. With a radius of 50km, it can vapourise a small space fleet if placed correctly. The ASGB-P can reach up to speeds of 0.4c. To compensate for its slow speed, it has several point defence lasers to deal with enemy strikefighters and missiles.
