Do you use reference when you painting, like what exactly ?

oh wow...hmmmm I do use reference most of the time, I try to paint from my mind but reference is always good, to see how light affects materials for example, I'm not saying I'm great at that but, yes I do encourage the use of reference, and as forΒ human body or faces, I try to just look at books and try to figure out by myself how the pose would work, Β I don't know, that's just me Β
