Technically I can carry out this threat if I leave people to die of natural causes...

I'm looking forward to read your fairy comic, Tarri!Β Β

Thanks!! I'm looking forward to actually starting it!
My time is still kinda jumbly... I'm also under pressure to find a "real job", which will do damage, ultimately lol...
...I don't suppose you know anyone who would love to support something like me?

Everytime I talk about art with someone, I show them artists I love and show them their website.. including yours! Β Β
I guess it takes time before artists get more known huh..Β Β Β

Oh really?

Hehe this makes me feel giddy inside... xD

And yeah... though some artists become well-known in a far shorter time than other artists... which can be frustrating! xD

This is why I revived my FA account, and why I want to upload art to Weasyl as well, to expand my presence...

This will probably delay my fairy comic... as it is, I'm still trying to decide at what level of colour and shading I should have it as - shading takes extra time, so I think I might make some Tarri-fairy comics so I can get an idea of how long a page might take before I start on the real thing...

ThePaddedKuma In reply to TarriPup [2018-05-18 18:47:22 +0000 UTC]

Frustrating indeed!! xD

I think what would help you decide about colors/shading/lighting is to first decide the frequency you wish to post themΒ  Β
If you fully color/shade the comics, like you said, it takes extra time.

I've also read somewhere that readers rarely watch for little details, most of them actually just "read" the strips...

I also think that would be a great idea to make some fairy comics to get an idea of how long it would take to make one comic.Β Β

That's what I want to do - I want to try different levels to get an idea how long each variant of page would take, and decide accordingly.

Another big thing I have come to notice is that the Asterix comics tend to have two page notations on each page - say, on page 28, halfway down the page you will see in a little circle "28A" and then at the bottom of the page, "28B". This seems to suggest the comic book isn't created as a full page at a time, but rather more like half-pages at a time.

If I released half-pages at a more regular interval rather than full-pages at longer intervals, it might be a good trick.

But again, it comes down to how long each variation of colour and shading takes. I do want my fairy comic to be graphically good, but it might take too long as a project if I do.

Oh, at the very least, I think a frequency of once per week at the very least is important. :3

One can only wonder if that fairy was making fairy art. Would that be a fairynception?

At the very least the art is not done on computer, so no chance of any pixie-lation. Β

A fairy writing a comic about her own life, now that's a concept.

TarriPup In reply to amisKaigle-et-Norman [2018-05-10 20:24:56 +0000 UTC]

Not really, not exactly.
Ideally the plan is for my fairysona to not actually be a part of the general stories, because I've figured that having a fairy-me as the main character constrains personality and interaction to a specific type with other main characters.
That said, I still haven't gotten past the idea of still using her/me in it, so...

It just occurred to me that fairies have to be careful while sleeping in order to prevent any wing damage.
