There was certainly a strange scent misting the forest these days-- something new and eerie. The odor sat on the tip of Hero's tongue as he contemplated what it might be. There had been rumors of dogs residing in the forest, perhaps those stories came from fearful little pets hearing coyotes in the night. No matter the case, Hero kept his guard up, knowing not to take folklore lightly.

His jostled nerves however where pushed aside by the thought of lonely canines exiled to the thickets and outskirts of town, and his heart went out for those hypothetical dogs. If that were indeed true, he would try his best to help them. But first he needed to find them.

The way Hero saw it, he'd come out on top either way: he'd either make a new friend, or come across another pestilent beast he could take his frustration out on.
