Hierro always does what he sets out to do even if it mean breaking a few teeth or bloodying up his paws. His determination goes unmatched to the point where it is detrimental to his health.

Loyal
Xolos are famously known for their dogged loyalty. Hierro will do anything for his people, even if it's someone he doesn't quite care for. His faction is his family and he'll do whatever it takes to keep them safe. When it comes to his people- always shoot first, never ask questions.

Intelligent
Hierro is a highly intelligent dog. It is not uncommon for him to overpower people with just his words alone. He is very quick-witted and analytical- both traits he feels necessary as a soldier.

Argumentative
If Hierro doesn't agree with you, you're gonna hear about it. Whether you're a person of meager stature or his leader, decides how he goes about his argument. Nevertheless, he will not hesitate to voice his opinion. At times in the military, decisions put people's lives at stake, so Hierro makes sure of the right thing to do. Outside of life and death situations, Hierro is less firm in his conviction to have people see his way of thinking as correct, yet he still persists in it.

Soft spoken
Despite his harsh, dominant attitude, Hero is a very quite dog. He rarely raises his voice, and sometimes his low tone is all that is necessary to scare people into submission
Reserved
Due to his military past, Hierro is very shut off from other people. He doesn't want to build relationships just to lose the ones he cares for later.

Restless
Hierro is the kind of dog that always needs a job. Whether it be tending to his humans or keeping the streets of Canidale clean, he can't help but put himself to work.

Pre-Group History:
Hierro grew up living with a police officer. On occasion, the man would take him to work to socialize him with the police dogs and maybe even do some training himself. Heirro never cared for the other dogs, but he admired their willingness to please their masters. One day, Hierro and his owner went out on a mission- checking suspicious cars crossing a toll for drugs. It was a common job as people constantly smuggled illicit substances over state boarders. Hierro, despite his breed, was trained as a drug-sniffing dog, and was very good at his job. Most offenders surrendered easily, but one man, on this day, was relentless. He began yelling, screaming even, cursing up a storm, and Hierro could feel the tension in his owner transferring itself into him. The moment Hierro saw they man's gun, he knew he had to protect his owner. He had watched the police dogs do it a thousand times: charge, jump, latch, and don't let go until they tell you to. Hierro bolted at the man and wrapped his maw around his forearm, thrashing as his did. Be it out of fear or surprise, or planed malicious intent, the man fired his gun and the bullet skimmed across Hierro's neck. He fired again the bullet hit the police officer. He fired his last four bullets and two more shot through Hierro's owner. Once backup had arrived, Hierro and the felon where a bloody mess, and his owner was dead. The police station funded his funereal, and paid for titanium teeth to replace the canines Hierro had broken in the fight. They saw him as a hero, but he saw himself as a failure.

When news got out that Canidale had built their own military base, they sent Hierro there to be one of their first canine recruits. With the weighty guilt of his dead owner hanging over his shoulders, Hierro strives to be the best of the best as quickly as possible and devoted his entire life to these people. He lives for only this.

The War
Hierro refuses to speak of the events that took place during the war, but they left him half blind, mangled, and lacking in spirit.
