Hotah, by nature, wasn’t one to align himself with a side. Good and evil was too often a matter of perspective. Who was he, to right his perceived wrongs of the world? But, isn’t that also just what the Empire sought? If all who would resist them remained idle, there would be no one to stand in their way. There would be no choices to make.

“Something must soon be done,” He whispered gravely, returning a dark gaze to Khatar.
“I know something must be done. And I,” Khatar struggled with the next words. He wanted to be a hero, still he struggled with the concept of leading a pack against the Empire. If not an army, a home then. “I’ve been traveling with companions. The numbers keep us safe- for now. A she-wolf inspired me, to take them on.”
He looked into Hotah’s dark brown eyes, furrowing his own brow; “And if I can’t take them on, I’ll at least make a place of safety.”
Hotah's eyes fell to the earth at his paws, ears flattening against his skull. “So long as they reign, we are all condemned to live beneath them. There will be no peace. But Khatar, if there is a wolf who could bring safety to these lands, I have no doubt it is you.” A hopeful glance, quiet as it was, spanned with sincerity across Hotah’s face.
