Description
“I just want to send him home…”
Though technically this could be applied to a few different situations, what I had in mind was a moment in the Coco novelization. After Imelda confronts Miguel at that iron gate and he runs away again, she actually went back to meet up with the family, but then took a seat on a bench and started to cry…I honestly felt so bad for her ;w; You’d never imagine her the type to break down ever
I'm like on a fanart roll here, five day weekends rule!

I wish they have this scene in the movie. It would make Imelda more sympathetic that way so that the audience would feel for her instead of disliking her for ruining Miguel’s life or for trying to forget her husband.
Not that I dislike Imelda-I love her. I just wish that the movie would remind the audience that she is broken, not bitter. She came off more bitter rather than broken so it took me a lot of convincing to see that deep inside she really cared about Miguel and really never stopped loving Hector.
I have a funny feeling that the people at Pixar are in broken marriages. Because almost all the Pixar couples are always fighting or unhappy with each other. For Hector/Imelda, I can understand. Their happiness was ruined by Ernesto de la Crap-er, Cruz! But for the others, what was their excuse?

I... I had no idea!!! Poor Imelda!!! This is so emotional, I kinda wish they would have kept the scene in the movie but I guess they had their reasons... Still, you interpretation feels so genuine that I can just imagine how it would look like so I'm good.
Thank you so much for sharing this!!

Wow... owo
This is probably the moment when,
After hating on her for so long for 'ruining Miguel's life',
You come across this,
And it really opens your eyes and causes you to have compassion for her,
Having not realized this was hard for her, too.
I wasn't ever hating on her, just so you know ^w^
The thing up above is what I think *might* happen to other people.
But having said this!
I have DEFINITELY had that above-described experience with other characters when I was younger!

She was trying to save Miguel's life before at morning sunrise he is cursed in a Land of the Dead forever, but she just let him then not willing to make his choice. Then she have remember that feeling, when her husband would play and she would to her daughter sing and nothing does mattered.

This looks great and I think What Did I Lose from Rag Dolly fits Mama Imelda so well!
