My first real full-size cosplay, at my first con, I was so excited! I was at Koxville Anime and Comic Con, and came in (unnofficial) Second place in the costume contest. The Halberd is entirely hand made, full size at seven and a half feet. The hat, coat lining and cuffs, necklace, and feet (not pictured) were all hand made. I sewed the buttons on the pants, and my aunt made the horn. No I do not plan on the nipple piercings, as hot as they are.Only three people recognized who I was cosplaying (one of them happened to be a contest judge, lucky me) but I got several recommendations for the comic in with the folks I hung out with, and they all seemed really interested in reading.
All in all people were really impressed and it absolutely made my month. Great first con experience.

Not a whole lot, we arrived at noon and left about halfway through four, but I socialized a lot. The Black Widow was the mentioned judge who recognized me, and she ran up and hugged me from behind. Some other guys recognized me to. I hit myself in the head with the axe exactly 75730475757 times and walked around on nothing but shoe inserts all day. But my costume was popular, a bunch of folks asked to take pictures even though they didn't know who I was, I got called a unicorn by a very weird guest artist who kept making in jokes I didn't get, a guy from the Walking Dead was there, I bought some cute hobbit earrings and a cuter shirt, I got the caricature... and I bought a plushy Grell for storm.
