From what I hear, there is a flashback in the newest volume of the manga. Not so much that it's a flashback to when he was bound to the Hellsing family but back to his freaking CHILDHOOD. It's similar in nature to the act that happens to Alucard. I guess Hirano does a neat little nod to the real Dracula: there is a scene where little Alucard (Chibi!card?) is raped by his uncle (which happened historically to the real Dracula). ;_; Similar in nature to this deviation, since, well, you know. "Awkward points in Alucard's existance" really doesn't quite cover it.
Sorry for the weird bit of suspense.

Wait, WAS it in the last chapter? I've lent my Hellsings out to someone so I can't reference it but I'm pretty sure I heard that it was an event that happened in volume 8 (in the US, we're up to volume 7 right now).

Heh heh, last night, I finally lost the bet to myself to wait out for the volumes to be officially released and read volume 8... and became incredibly hyperactive. (Volume 8 = 70% violence, 30% of people randomly reappearing to remind you they weren't dead yet
