With Iron NICOLE extending her new rule over New Mobotropolis, a small band of the remaining Freedom Fighters had gathered in a last ditch attempt to stop the AI...it ended in defeat and the survivors were forced to retreat. Cream had lost her mother in the attack and tried to find her, only to witness her mother being struck down by a blast of nanites. Frightened and afraid, she tried to seek out any Freedom Fighter she could and ran into Bunnie, who decided to take the girl with her and escape the threat of the city.

So they escaped, running to the only place that Bunnie could go now. She returned to SandBlast City, to her Uncle Beuregard and begged for him to offer her and Cream shelter. He accepted but only on the basis that the two girls join his faction of the Dark Egg Legion...which required for Cream to be Legionised. However she was willing to make this sacrifice to ensure her safety and Bunnie comforted her just like her mother used to. Cream even became close friends with Matilda the Armadillo as the two girls helped each other with their work.
