Description
Team Quantum
Guild: Researchers

A duo of geniuses who came from their faraway homeland to join the famous Andalusst Researchers Guild and share their wealth of knowledge with their peers. Perhaps they're a bit too optimistic about what they'll find.

Nezumi the Raticate
Gender: Male
Nature: Quirky
Trait: Often lost in thought
Ability: Hustle
Moves: Substitute, Charge Beam, Ice Beam, Flamethrower
Accessories: Template Coat (only worn in lab)
Stats
Str:
Int:
Agi:
Cha:  (2 bonus)
Fun Facts:
- Nezumi is an engineering and robotics expert, with a fair knowledge of physics.
- He needs glasses to see, but broke his on the way to Andalusst, so he's a bit blind for now.
- He is a member of Team Nebula, a Rescue Team, back in his home country.
- He has a prosthetic left arm. However, he does not know why. One day, he just woke up in the middle of nowhere with his arm replaced with a shoddily-put together bunch of scrap metal. He would later learn from his partner that he was gone for nearly four months. The arm is more of a hindrance than anything else, as it is stiff, heavy, and cumbersome, releases sparks all the time, and shorts out if he touches water.
- He is not a good fighter himself, so instead he opts to use Substitute to pull out a piece of machinery he's built that can fire electricity, ice, or... well, fire.
- There's a reason Nezumi's name is Japanese, it's not just a random thing. He isn't Japanese (or the Pokemon equivalent) himself, but where he is from, almost everything has a Japanese name. It's a remnant of ancient times, where their land was ruled by the Japanese-equivalents. Now, they've lost the culture, but kept the cool-sounding names. Where Doc is from is a part of the approximately 1/3 of the continent that has this Japanese naming theme, but it's a really technologically advanced city that's long since abandoned the old customs. Nezumi is from an offshoot of that city that was afraid of losing tradition, so instead rejected all technology.

Doc the Ghost Kecleon
Gender: Male
Nature: Adamant
Trait: Quick tempered
Ability: Protean
Moves: Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Fake Out, Foul Play
Accessories: Template Armbands (Pair)
Stats
Str:
Int:  (2 bonus)
Agi:
Cha:
Fun Facts:
- Doc always stays invisible save for his hands and stripe. He usually keeps his eyes hidden too, but until he gets his goggles back, they will be visible. Neither Nezumi nor anyone else knows why he stays invisible.
- He has admitted that Doc is not his real name, but will not say what his real name is.
- He speaks with an Irish accent.
- He is a member of Team Normalizer, an Exploration/Rescue Team, back in his home country.
- He is an expert in physics, with a bit of knowledge of robotics picked up from Nezumi.

V1.0 - Initial Submission. Well, here it is! My first of three applications. Looking at this now, I'm perhaps even more worried that the mods won't accept this. Nezumi's arm... It's a huge part of his design and I can't just remove it. I already took out his glasses, and he's supposed to look weird without them, so I don't want him going around looking too weird all the time. But I should at least be able to get those back pretty soon. The arm, though... I think it qualifies as a "simple prosthetic," it's literally just scrap metal, but... I dunno. I might have to do something about it. And Doc... for some reason I fear they won't allow him either. Perhaps something about his design being too odd. But, in all fairness, he's got everything a normal Kecleon has, it's just invisible. And I never really noticed it until now, but the way the stripe is drawn makes it look like a giant scary ghost mouth. It was completely unintended, but it works really well. I just wish I had a better color to make the hands though. Also, I'm really unsatisfied with this art. I spent a lot of time on Nezumi's, but it just didn't come out well. And then Doc's is incredibly simple, but any time I tried to put in a real background it just overshadowed the actual character. Maybe I'm just a bit rusty at digital art. Especially shading. The shading's horrendous. But oh well, I guess it doesn't really matter. The comics are what matter. And yes, I did just get really lazy and copy the description from the preview. There's not much else I could've written anyways.

I'm still waiting for changes in the Atlas. Also, a small favor...

Could you go to the Atlas, your team's logbook, delete application, then resubmit the application so that it will be approved once the changes are already made? Its the only way for me to approve rejected apps.

Sorry, I've actually decided to drop out of the group. Should I just delete my team from the Atlas and remove the app from the group?

Alright that is probably like the most clever way I've seen someone do a kecleon app, I wish I'd thought of it cause bravo XD

Thanks! I thought it might've been a pretty cool idea.

A sajesjon for the Kecleon: Maybe make his app art him in the process of becoming invisible, in a way were his general outline and body shape is visabole and small coloured parts of his body visabole, that way the admins will know be able to figure out what his non-invisible form looks like & dus (probobly) allowing your app. to pass review wile still having him mostly invisible

...BTW was this team inpriered by Watchmen, or comic book hero teams at all?

Sorry, but I'm afraid your Raticate's arm isn't an acceptable prosthetic for a starting team. You'll need to remove it, or, if that's absolutely not acceptable, you'll likely need to swap him out for a different character.

Also, while your Kecleon's art is clever, it doesn't change the fact that we need to see your team members' designs and colorations in their entirety. You'll need to fill in the rest of his body.

A mechanical prosthetic arm goes a bit above what's allowed for starting teams, though I get what you're trying to accomplish. We do allow simple prosthetic limbs such as peglegs or crutches without it counting as an item. I guess it's one of those situations where making your character out to be an inventor without being able to have any visible inventions is quite tricky.

Maybe if you made the prosthetic removable and drew him without it in the application, it would line up better with our rules. You could have him slot it back in for personal stories and such.

Okay, thanks. I wasn't sure if it would be, but I had to try. Having it be removable is okay. If I did, though, would I be able to put it in the inventory just as a... reference of sorts, I guess?

Also, sorry to bug you with questions, but do you have any problems with the Kecleon always being invisible? :iconcalias-moon: said that I had to show the characters' full designs and colorations in the app art, but since he is never visible, I kind of am showing it. If it's not okay, that's fine, I can replace him with another character.

Dunno if mechanical prosthetics are allowed, but very cool characters.
