I’m bit.
He’s bit.
We’re bit.
WE’RE BIT!
Teddy’s mind would not stop. She was limping, struggling to hold Synthetic’s weight on top of her own. He was doing his best to walk, but being completely blind and in extreme pain he could not manage to get further than a couple steps.
And he wouldn’t shut up.
“Ted, please answer me.”
She remained silent. She couldn’t speak to him, not now. Her main focus was to get him to safety, without obtaining any more bites than they already have.
“Teddy!”
She bit her lip to prevent herself from answering.
I’m bit.
He’s bit.
We’re both bit.
“Teddy please answer me! You screamed! Please tell me y-you're alright!” His begging made Teddy’s stomach sink.
No distractions, no talking, no more bites.
“T-Tell me you’re okay… Tell me please…”
“I-I’m okay.” Giving in she whispered, too quietly for most to hear. Though he heard, and he didn’t believe. “I-I’m okay. Y-You’re okay. W-we’re okay.”
Lies.
Teddy soon struggled as she fought the urge to collapse. Her feet burned and her twig-like legs were about to snap.
She still carried on.
No giving up. I promised him I wouldn’t leave him. I promised him. He promised me. No giving up…

After leaving Hide behind, Seek felt a swirl of guilt try and turn her around. Still she marched on, ignoring the sounds of struggle behind her. She honestly had no idea why she left or what she should do now. Would she just go up to the monster? Greet it with a good old happy hello and chat about things? No. That’s ridiculous.
She’d murder it.
But how. From the massive stench reeking from it she could tell it was huge, bigger than her at least. Without Hide by her side there was no way she could match it’s strength. She was basically asking for death as she pushed through the bushes.

Teddy kicked open the door, hoping that she hadn’t broken the old lock. Everything was abandoned or boarded up by other survivors making in near impossible to get in anywhere. Fortunately, she had managed to find a decent looking store near a smaller town. It seemed to already have defenses that just needed a bit of fixing up.
She acted as if they weren’t dying. As if they would get over the sickness in their bodies and survive.
Yet they were, slowly and messily the infection seeped through their body, destroying cells painfully as they crept toward their brains. Both felt the pain of every cell dying, it was a dull pain but still pain.
Synthetic was still blind, maskless and in a panic. Teddy hasn’t explained anything to him, only repeating that they’d be okay. That he’d be okay.
She tried not to mention herself.
Scanning the area she saw multiple shelves that used to be filled with junk food or supplies completely stripped clean, some turned over. There was a register atop a counter that had the glass shattered, blood littering the floor. Had someone been so desperate to break the glass with their own hands? It was only food and some ineffective supplies.
“Ted?” Synthetic still leaned against her for support despite the fact he had told her multiple times he was fine. She knew he wasn’t.
“Shh..” Her eyes barely adjusted to the darkness and it didn’t help that one of her eyes were unable to see anything. She waited in the darkness for a shadow to shift or something to lunge toward them.
Nothing.
Had their luck finally shown? If they found this place then maybe they wouldn’t turn… Maybe they’d have an actual chance to survive the infection! That way she wouldn’t have to lose him, she wouldn’t have to lose anyone anymore.
“...Okay, we’re g-good.” She staggered toward the wall with him, helping him sit down and leaning him against the wall. He thanked her but his voice was cracking just like hers and sweat littered his forehead. His fever had begun, his temperature reaching an inhuman number.
“Ted, I d-don’t think-” Synthetic could sense that she didn’t believe they were dying, or at least she didn’t believe he was dying.
“We’re fine.” She snapped. Her eyes avoided his which were lost. He didn’t know where to look just yet. “Please… You’re fine.”
“I know you don’t want to lose anyone, but Ted you need to understand we’re not going to make it. You know what happened to those who’re bit. Hell Jacker... It’s only a matter of time before I, we, both turn.”
“You don’t understand! There still may be a chance, if not for me then for you!” Teddy refused to believe anything that involved him dying. “You need to survive!”
“It’s over. I hate to say it, I really do but…” He finally found her, his blind eyes staring into hers which were directed toward the ground.
“Don’t.”
“We’re dying.” He needed her to understand what was going on even if her mind refused to acknowledge it. A sudden cry filled the air, Teddy no longer able to hold it in. Automatically a horrible feeling, beside the infection, set in Synthetic’s stomach. The cries were silent, her voice barely a whisper.
“N-no! I-I… I can’t fucking l-l-lose another person!” Synthetic stared at her. Had she just…? “I-I can’t! Y-y-you cannot d-die! I… I n-n-need y-you!” He found himself grabbing her hand in his bloody one.
“Ted… We’re meant to lose people we need, we love.. How else would we know how important they were to us?” He has a slight smile on his face.
“I-I already know h-h-how important you a-are to me!” She removes her hand from his with a bit of hesitation as she stands.
“Ted?” She doesn’t look back as she drags her aching feet across the floor, reaching the door she had broken. All Synthetic heard was the sound of a door creaking open. “Teddy?!”
“Stay h-here.” Please stay safe… Please don’t die. With that said, she bolted out the door, closing it behind her.

Walking slowly into a small clearing Seek laid eyes upon the monstrosity following them. The Slenderman… Yet it wasn’t. It… It’s arm! One of the long arms was missing, the other shredded. The long tar-like tendrils dragged behind the slouched, slender body as it stumbled toward her.
Eyes wide, she backed up. A low, horrid groan filled her mind as it let out a hiss and lunged forward. Shrieking, she side-stepped and ran in the other direction.
What is that?!
The scream attracted another unwanted visitor as a man in a fireman’s suit lunged forward to nip at her skin. She cried out again as she stumbled backwards, falling to the ground. The mouth of the man fell at her feet where he bit into her flesh.
Her scream was louder, almost inhuman, as the man ripped off her first three toes. She jerked her foot back, quickly standing and running in the other direction. Her limp turned to a one-footed hop as her injured foot continued to bleed, lone skin hanging from it.
Her escape was going well, that was until a lone tendril belonging to the beast she had first encountered snagged her ankle. She fell face first, groaning in pain which was something she hadn’t experienced in years.
She couldn’t get up, one ankle now being constricted and the other attached to an injured foot. Was this really the end for her?
She flinched as the monster’s grip around her ankle tightened.
This was the end. She closed her eyes as she felt the beast approach her, the other creature keeping its distance. When she felt her foot tear away from her leg she allowed herself to slip away.
