nice. simple, folding, and very low maintenance from the looks of it.
if their was a version of this, in which several or more units could combine, you would have the basis of a system for the rapid deployment of outpost's, bases, and many other structures, that could break down again into its component units, and move to anywhere its needed.
since they have six legs, it could work that each leg could have some kind of ranged weapon in it, that way in most structural layouts each unit would use three legs to connect to the others, and the other three legs could either make additional connections or be left free to act as defensive weapon turrets.

while im still thinking of it, they could assemble complex factory lines by having the necessary tools mounted on three legs, and then they could also assemble into war factories, that could build more of themselves.
honestly this unit looks so simple and versatile that the possibilities are endless.
