I think it would of been a picture worth getting run over. XD Beautiful image. Your focal point is simple, yet with everything faded in the background, it is a nice effect!

I had to lay down flat on the ground, with my knees against the wall of the building behind me. The camera was balanced on its front, tipped upwards at about a 5-degree angle.
Oh, yeah, and by almost getting run over by a bike.

Anyway my suggestion for this shot would be the following:
You may have gotten a better angle if you'd actually set your camera down on the ground.
Than again, as you've pointed out, traffic can be dangerous
But that's my opinion ^_^
It's a lovely shot, the colours of the leaf are magnificent.

Well, in my opinion, show more of the concrete jungle. So the leaf will show out more. (just what I think, because my photography knowledge wasn't deep and, I got that idea from your comment.)

Wow that's risky. It is a bit hard to find a good place for photography (especially you are in the middle of a rushing crowd, kneeling down just to capture some perfect shoot)
