The Tower and the Eye is a remarkable feat of story-telling. A novel of this nature requires one quality above all others from the author - imagination. Well, if you enjoy outpourings of imagination, great sweeping flights of fancy, and fantasy, then seek no further. Great cover too; often overlooked as part of the package in an e-book, but not here.

Excellent pitches set out what is on offer and I was not remotely disappointed. I read novels of this nature fairly infrequently, but if other examples of the genre were as strong I'd read far more. I must also mention the inventive and at times simply wonderful names of the characters, all part of what is expected from a book of this flamboyant nature. A rare treat, to be savoured and, ideally, returned to for a second reading to fully savour all that is on offer.
