This is my new submission for THREADLESS's Pinup contest. Please go give me a VOTE. Just click the link --> [link]My Native American friend and I came up with the concept of a Indian mother nature type character shooting stars from the moon. I realize the head-dress is not traditionally something a woman would wear, and is usually meant for the man-chief. We thought it would be a cool girl power spin.

I am a big fan and reader of native american history (also fan of pinup) but I live far and here at Brazil they are disappearing at faster and faster rates.

yes, there are many full blooded Native American people in the states....although the majority of them do not dress in the traditional garb anymore unless it is a special occasion. Many reservations still exist as well.

You may want to reconsider this. Many people get offended by this image. They see it as a kind of stereotypical depiction of native american women. I'm not trying to be mean, and I can see you put a lot of work into this. But it's a sensitive subject, and even if you are trying to show a positive light, people might be offended by it.

I realize people find this offensive sometimes. However, I love it. I showed my Native American friend, and she loves it. To me, this is so far removed that it becomes pop art piece...not a reflection of anyone's culture. Never going to make everyone happy

Absolutely gorgeous! I love that you put her in a head-dress that is traditionally worn by males. It definitely give her a more powerful feel. Like Rosie the Riveter gone Native.
