i made a film in woods once, a music video, it didn't really come out how i imagined, so sometimes its best to just do that, imagine.

Well, I was really tempted to use the woods we have on campus but I just don't have good enough kit, and I prefer to do headshots etc cos of my BDD.
Also, I think if there was any more in this, then it would be far too busy, there's already a lot of colour!

I have seen from some of your other work that you'll know what I'm talking about, but too much or too little colour can easily be used to your advantage, the bright bold red, vibrant blue and soft pink are essential to making this shot, but if there were a background of forrest or anything else for that matter, it wouldn't need a rich green for example, the focal point is coloured and whats unimportant can be monochrome, think of the scene from Schindlers list and how powerful it was, all around the colour gave depth to the image but the details fade away in your memory, all that is left is the little girl, the same would be said if you were to create such a shot.

That's what I found, the colours I had were so strong that the only background that seemed to work was a pure black, which I actually think works quite well with the theme - and like you said, it leaves something to the imagination, which is something I like. I think art/photography etc can be a two way thing, you can create the image but it's the response you get that adds to it so much.

yeah oh course, without interpretation art is meaningless, an image, an object, its how it makes you think and feel, thats the job of any good artist, to invoke that emotion

Exactly, and I think at times it can be difficult with photography to create something that is more than a pretty snapshot, I find it really hard to make anything that is remotely evocative - I'm normally way off the mark!
