Description
Copypaste: So my aunt asked me to draw a bunch of art to put on the walls of her daycare. She wanted them by the time she'd come down from Tennessee and from the time she asked, I was pretty much given less than a month while I was still really busy with other stuff. She also said she was "very picky" about what she wanted although she never said what it was she was looking for. So I just drew a bunch of my characters really fast. In the end, she only wanted African American characters-- or characters that could pass as African American. I didn't actually get them printed and she requested me to do everything in a different way though, so none of these actually ended up on her wall. Lol /copypasteThis one did not meet my aunt's approval because he wasn't dark skinned enough-- it's just odd to... have characters turned away because of their skin color and not because of who they are and what they do. Like, Wally is probably the most... innocent of all the characters I drew for my aunt. He's a good, hard-working kid. But nope. He's white so he doesn't get to be on the wall. I mean, no one got to be on the wall in the end, but like... I dunno. I always try to make things diverse, because if they exist then I want them to be in my stories. I dunno.
Anyway, this is one of my Lalaloopsy OCs, Wally Witcher! He's-- I have a bio of him. Hold on:
Wally Witcher is Lalaloopsy Land’s very own witch-in-training! He’s a very polite boy with a love for creating potions, spells, charms, curses, and summoning creatures, but he’s not exactly great at doing any of that. One day, Wally hopes to be a very powerful witch, and until then he’s very focused on his training. Wally often has his head in a grimoire or in a basic how-to-magic book, usually not stepping more than a few feet from his home for days just to study. Sometimes, he’ll just stay in to finish reading a new fantasy novel since he loves reading in general. He’s actually a bit soft spoken, but he’s not exactly shy and can even be quite festive. Wally loves it when his friends volunteer to be guinea pigs for his witchcraft, but he’ll only allow them to do so after he has practiced a lot.
Wally’s name is a shortened, casual nickname form of ‘Walpurgis’ as in ‘Walpurgisnacht/Walpurgis Night’, his sewn on date, while his last name, ‘Witcher’, is based off of the word ‘witch’. He is sewn from a witch’s cloak.
Pet
Mephisto is the name of Wally’s goat. On Mephisto’s head is a little tuft of hair and her has black buttons for eyes. He sports a bowtie and has a very patient and butler-like demeanor. Mephisto helps Wally with his witchcraft, and while witches were once said to ride on goats in the past, Wally wouldn’t even dream of using his dear friend for such a thing. There is something oddly human-like about Mephisto, even down to the way Wally treats and speaks to him, or maybe it’s more demon-like…
Trivia
-Wally was sewn on April 30th, which is Walpurgis Night, a festival where witches gather and enjoy themselves. Non-witches often dress up as witches and celebrate as well.
-Mephisto’s entire being is a reference to Mephistopheles, mostly in relation to Goethe’s Faust. Mephistopheles is a horned demon who often disguises himself while acting as a servant to someone who has sold their soul to him until their time on earth (or other lands) reaches an end. On the other hand, witch familiars are beings which can often change forms from human, to animals, or unknown creatures. Familiars will assist witches in their witchcraft. It’s unknown whether Mephisto is just a goat, a familiar, or something else.
-Wally loves frills, lace, and cute stuffed animals.
/bio
Even though he's a Lalaloopsy OC, I kinda want him in Pages and Pathways as well. XD Or Starleene-- which is also a part of the Pages universe. I'll introduce Starleene later. I had a hard time choosing a color for the magic in this picture.;; Also, my other Lalaloopsy OC is in the back in a portrait (without xeir glasses). :U
